The kids are in the bedroom waiting restlessly for their innocence to leave but it already has
The women tell their tales and hope the others don’t pick up on the all lies but they already have
The men are round the table being loud and making fun of anyone and anything but they don’t know why
The women in the basement speak their minds and write a list of pros and cons but they don’t know why
The girls are reading magazines and trying hard to be as normal as they can but they don’t know what it is
The women in the hallway wonder where their dreams of happiness have gone but they don’t know what it is
This common sense of common people living a dream
They think they’re all in love and out of luck and nothing is real
This common sense of common people trying to feel
They’re all in luck and out of love and everything’s real
The young men in the doorway they are hopelessly in love with their reflection but not enough to care
The girls are in the lounge room with their feet up hoping one day they’ll find men not enough to care
The grownups hide their love behind a smile hoping they’re looking good tonight but they don’t know why
The kids are on the playground breaking rules and holding hands as if they’re fine but they don’t know why
This common sense of common people living a dream
They think they’re all in love and out of luck and nothing is real
